Hello, my name is Siyeon, and today, I went to the Changgyeonggung palace. There were many buildings and sad stories related to the palace. However, today, I will talk about Okcheongyo and Gyeongchunjeon.
FIrst, I saw. Okcheongyo. OKcheongyo is a stone bridge that connected the palace and the world of common people. Water went under the bridge. There were monsters at each end named Seosu (서수) or Cheonlok (천록). They protected the palace from the evil spirits of the water. Officials washed their minds while crossing the bridge and before meeting the king.
I also saw Gyeonchunjeon, and it is the living quarters of the queen, royal concubines, and the mothers of the king and queen. The palace isn't only a living quarter for the women part of the royal family, but King Jeongjo and his grandson, King Heonjong, were bith born in Gyeonchunjeon.
