Hello, my name is Evan. I went to Gyeongbokgung palace today, and learned about it. Gyeongbokgung means great fortune. Jung do jeon named it. First, we learned about parts of the palace. There are an Inner palace and an outer palace, and resting and hosting place. The inner palace is the area for royal family and some official work. The outer palace was for ceremonies, official work and events. The resting and hosting place is the area for rest and entertainment. Then, We went to Geunjeongjeon and Sajeongjeon. Geunjeongjeon is a part of the outer palace, and ceremonies such as coronations, royal weddings and Chinese envoy receptions were held there. Sajeongjeon is also a part of the outer palace. It's the king's daily office. the king and his officers gather there and discuss politicial affairs. Then, there is Gangneongjeon. Gangneongjeon is the king's living quarter. There is no dragon ridge on the roof because the king actually stayed there. We couldn't see Gyotaejeon and Gyyeonhoeru because there was no time, so it was a pity. Tomorrow we will go to Unhyeongung palace. I am looking forward to it.
