I have been to the Unheyongung palace before with my friends. Although this was quite diffrent from that it was still nice. I think I still remembered being there. And how it was much more smaller.

Before going to Noandang we first learned about Heungsun Daewongun and Gojong and also Empress Myeongseong. What did they do for Joseon and lots of storys.

Heungsun Daewongun abolited the Seo-won and reconstructed Gyeongbokgung. He also reorganized the tax system and did open port policy. As for Gojong the 26th king of Joseon, he tried to make Joseon a more modern country by bringing lots of european things. Such as telephones or street lights. He also changed the country's name into Daehanjeguk. Empress Myeongsung was the wife of Emperor Gojong. She was into the politics of Joseon and she tried to have a close relationship with Russia. But the Japanese did not like that and decided to murder Empress Myeongsung. She was killed and burned at the Gyeongbokgung palace. It was so sad and made me feel so mad at the people who killed her.

We went to Noandang. It means 'living comfortably in old age'. It is the Sarangchae. Heungsun Daewongun lived here. He met guests and discussed political issues.

And then the Norakdang. Empress Myeongsung learned her lessons to become queen. The wedding ceremony of King Gojong and Empress Myeongsung was held here too.

After their marriage the Heungsun Daewongun's family couldn't stay at the Norakdang. So Irodang was built for Heungsun Daewongun's wife to live.

The Unhyeongung palace is such a lovely place. There are cherry blossom trees in spring and it's small so it's easy to just walk around. And considering how big the place is, there's quite a lot to see. Next time I'll come here with just my family.
