Hello, my name is Evan. Today, I went to Unhyeongung palace. Unhyeongung palace was the personal house of Heungsun Daewongun, the father of king Gojong.

The guards and servants lived in sujiksa. Noandang is the Sarangchae of Unhyeongung palace. Noan means 'living comfortable in old age'. Norakdang was the Anchae of Unhyeongung palace. It is the central and the largest building in Unhyeongung palace. Empress Myeongseong received lessons here to be queen. Irodang is another Anchae. Heungsun Daewongun's wife stayed here. The main gate of Unhyeongung is higher than the tiled roof, so it's the lofty gate. The lofty gate was high to represent the pride of noblemen. The ondol, meaning warm stone, kept the buildings warm at winter.
