Hello, my name is Evan. Today, I went to Namsan hanok village. In Namsan hanok village, there were a few houses. There were various types of houses in the Joseon dynasty First, there is a palace. A palace is very large and beautiful. Only the king could live is a house of more than 99 kan. Noblemen were influenced by confucial ideas, so there were male and female quarters. Middle and lower class people lived in thatched roof houses. Straw was usually used for thr roof, because it was easy to find. Thatched roof houses are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is simple and small. In the Buddhist temples, there are worship halls, lecture halls and rooms for monks. Many temples of the Joseon dynasty were located in the mountains because the Joseon people were influenced by confucianism. |
