Hello everyone, my name is Stella, and today I went to Namsan Hanok Village. I learned a lot of things such as various types of houses, the ondol (Korean traditional heating system), and chamber pot. Out of all these things, I will talk about the four types of houses. The first type is the palace. Only the king could live in a house that has more than 99 Kan(Ä). A Kan is the distance between two columns. Also, the palace was painted with a colorful decoration called Dancheong(´Üû). The second type is Hanok with tiled roof. Only noblemen lived in these houses. Noblemen were influenced by Confucian ideas, so there were separate quarters for males and females. »ç¶ûä was for men, ¾Èä was for women, and Çà¶ûä was for servants. The third type is Hanok with thatched roof. The middle and lower class people lived here. This house is usually made of straw do it was cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The last tpye is the Buddhist Temple. In these temples, there are worship halls, lecture halls, and rooms for monks. These temples were located in the mountains because people were influenced by Confucianism. Also, temples were decorated with ´Üû. Today I enjoyed this trip, and I want to come here again ti learn more. Thank you for listening to my speech. -->
