Today I went to Namsan Hanok village. This place had many Hanoks. The first one is Lee Seong Up¡¯s house. His job was a carpenter so his class is in the middle. However, he stole the materials while he was rebuilding Gyeongbok palace so his house looks like a noblemen.

Next house is Min Yeong Whi¡¯s house. This house is the largest house because he was a distant relative¡¯s to Empress Myeongseong. He built the Whimoon school and Cheonil bank. There is also the house of Kim Chun Heong. His job was the head of the royal guards. In his house there is a hangrangchae whicj is a room for the servants. Even though he was rich, he didn¡¯t build his house big like other nobles.

Lastly, There is a house f Yun Tak Yeong. In his house there is a shrine. It is a building that is for memorial service. It was in a good location because in Joseon dynasty people believed in Confucianism and in that religion they think it is important to respect their ancestors. In every building there were ondol and jangdokdae. Ondol is a Korean trsditional heating system and jangdokdae is a Korean traditional jar that helps fermentation of foods like soybean sauce.

After going to this place I got to know better of our traditional house. I felt that I want to try living in Hanok which is very scientific.
