When I arrived at the Seoul Museum of History I remembered how big this place was. And also everything about the last time I came here.
We learned about how people wanted Seoul in the ancient days for hangang. Hangang was good because there was fertile land near it and it was good luck according to feng shui. Also the river led to the ocean so that it was a nice place to trade with other countries. It was at the middle of the country so it was easy to rule the country.
We saw the miniature of six ministries street too. It was kinda cute to see the tiny figures. The ministries were all so complicated to remember. There was one about tax and military and law and et cetera.
We explained Bukchon, Jungchon, Namchon to the teacher. Bukchon was for richer people. Such as royal families and high level officials. Junchon was for jungins. They were lawyers, doctors, translators and more. And the Namchon was for poor noblemen. But some rich guys lived there too.
We saw embroidered patterns and discussed the meaning of them. The crane was for civil officials and the tiger was for military official. Two animals meant a more higher official.
Ofcourse we saw the Hopae too. They were for men who are over sixteen. It's kind of like an identification card. On the front there was name and their class and date of birth.
Then it was about Joseon getting more modernized and how it changed to Daehan Jeguk. Gojong held a ceremony to the empire in Wongudan. And the Huangungwoo is also important. After Empress Myeongsung died Gojong had fleed to the Russian Embassy. Then Japan took over Korea and sadly lots of historical places and stuff were ruined. But still isn't it amazing that we stood again and now known to the world?
I am very proud of my city Seoul and hope to make it even better. when I grown up to an adult. SEOUL FOREVER!!!!! |
