Hello, my name is hyejune. I will introduce to you about embroidered patch called hweungbae.

 The uniform of official and king had hweungbae. Official had a square hweungbae, while the king had a round hweungbae. We can find the animals in hweungbae, crane, tiger and dragon. Civil officers had tiger patterns, that means integrity. Military officers had crane patterns, that means brave. high level officials¡¯ patches contained two animals, on the other hand lower level officials¡¯ had only one. Only king and crown prince could have a dragon patterns. The dragon was means power. also king¡¯ dragon of hweungbae had five toe. But crown prince¡¯ dragon had four toe. So hweungbae used on show the  own power. I felt hweungbae is very detailed and beautiful.
