Today I went to Unhyeongung Palace. It was the personal house of Heungseon Daewongun. He hang out with gangsters and pretended to be a fool. He would have been killed if he looks smart, so he pretended to be an idiot. Heungsun Daewongun's son, Gojong became a king when he was 12 as King Cheoljong passed away very early and he didn't have any sons. He changed the country's name to 대한제국 (Empire, Daehanjeguk). In Unhyeongung palace, Sujiksa is the room that guards and sesrvants stayed. Noandang is the place theat men usd to stay. It's called Sarangchae. Norakdang is the place that women used to stay and it's called Anchae. It is the largest building in Unhyeongung palace. Welling of King Gojong and Empress Myeongseong was held in Norakdang. I'm interested in Heungseon Daewongun, Gojong, and also Unhyeongung Palace. |
