Namsan Hanok villiage is a place where we could see our ancestors traditional houses. Today I'm going to tell you about the various types of houses of Joseun Dynasty. First, Palace. The palace is a very large and beautifully decorated building. As you well know, the king and the Royal familiy lived in here. Only the king could have houses more than 99 kans(Ä). A kan is a palce between houses. Second, Hanok with tiled roof. Noblemen(¾ç¹Ý) lived here usally, but rich persons also lived in here. Because of Confucianism, the rooms where men and women lived were different. Sarangchae was for men, Anchae was for women, and Haengrangchae was for the servants of the house. Third, Hanok with thatched roof. The middle and lower class people lived in here. Straw was usally used for the celing, because it was easy to find. Last, Buddhist temples. In here lived buddhist monks. The temple were usally in mountains, because of confucianism that influenced many Joseun people.
