Today I went to Namsan Hanok Village(³²»êÇÑ¿Á¸¶À»). They made Hanok using materials from the nature. They didn't really use nails because it is easy to move when they have no nails.
There are different types of houses such as palaces, tiled roof houses, and thatched roof houses. The palace is the house that royal families lived. It is large and beautiful. The king can live in a house of 99 kan(Ä). The kan is a distance between two pillars. The palace is decorated with Dancheong (´Üû).
People who lived in the tiled roof house were noble men (Yangban, ¾ç¹Ý). Men used to stay in Sarangchae (»ç¶ûä). Sarangechae is the main quarter. Women used to stay in Anchae (¾Èä). Guards and servants stay in Haengrangchae (Çà¶ûä). Thatched roof house is for the middle and lower class people. They use straw for the roof because it is easy to find. These houses are cool in summer and warm in winter. These houses are simple.
I came to be interested in Hanok.
