First, when the baby is born, a straw rope was hung over the gate. They belive the straw rope protect the house from the evil spirits. And warn people not to enter the house.

Second, when the baby live 100 day, they have 100th day celebration. In Joseon period, many babies young. People believed that the child would live long if the family shared rice cakes with many people. So family made rice cakes and passed them around to neighbors.

Third, they have their first birthday. It is called 'Dol'. On the first birthday, the child is seated before a table of various things. Typicaly, money means their offsprings be rich, and long needle means long life. 

Fourth, they have Coming of age. This ceremony is held for boys and girls aged 15~20. Boys tie their hair into a topknot, and wear traditional horsehair hat. Girls roll their hair at the back of the head and fix it with a long hair pin.

5, they have marrige. Joseon people get married quick. The wedding ceremony was held in bride's house.

6, They celebrate 61st birthday. In the past, a handful of people lived long. So when a person is 61, they have celebration. Tables are pilled up with rice cakes, fruits and snacks. Their offsprings bowed and offer wine to their parents. 

Last, they have memorial service. There are many kinds of memorable service. One of them is hwangap or hegap. Other is Jaesa. It is given on th eday of a person's death. Various fruits, vegetable, fish, drinks, rice and soup are placed on the table. The procedurs of memorial services are complicated and strict.
