Sungkyunkwan University

     What university do you want to go? In the Joseon Dynasty, Sungkyunkwan was the bestuniversity where many students hoped to go. Today, we went to Sungkyunkwan University and learned many things about it.

     Sungkyunkwan university teached students about confucianism. Confuianism is a study which was made by Confucis. Since Sungkyunkwan was the best university in Joseon Dynasty, the test to enter Sungkyunkwan was very hard. Only the top of the top students were allowed.

     The grand memorial rites were held in spring and fall at Munmyo. Fall is the season when onfucis was born, and spring is the season when Confucis died. It is the reason why the ground memorial rites were held in spring and fall. Munmyo was a really significant place whrere the king actually ame to serve the rites. The gates in Munmyo are Sinsammun and Dongsmmun. Munmyo was a very interesting place too.

     My favorite plae in the Sungkyunkwan was the Myeongryundang where was the main leture hall of the Sunggyungwan. Also, there are plaes suh as Dongjae and Seojae. Dongjae and Seojae was the dormitory in Sunggyungwan. In addition, there is a place named Daseongjeon which si a shrine whose rold is to keep a spirit tablet of Confucis.

     These were the things that we learned today. Many of the places that we went were places that I knew from books, but going to the place and actually seeing them was a wonderful time and memory.
