Did you hear anything about Changgyeong palace? This palace was one of the 5 palaces in the Joseon dynasty, and was for royal women families, especially for queen, king¡¯s mother and concubines. About Changgyeonggung palace, we can divide them into 3 parts. It¡¯s outer palace, inner palace, and the back garden. As you know, the outer palace was for official work and events like coronations or the royal wedding. But before you go there, you need to pass Okchengyo, because people believed that the bridge is connecting the king¡¯s holy area and the common people¡¯s land, and also they believed that it is cleaning them. So, after crossing that bridge, you can go into the outer palace, which was for men. Myeongjeongjeon, Munjeongjeon, and Sungmundang was belonged to the outer palace, so officials can meet the king and discussed state affairs. I think that is why they are looking very grave and higher than inner palace. About the inner palace, that was for womens and for royal family. Gyeongchunjeon, Hwangyeongjeon, Yanghwadang, and Tongmyeongjeon belongs here. And, from the the inner palace men can not come in except for royal family. So, as you can see, it was for the royal family members. Because of that, there is a room for queen, crown prince, princes, king, and so on. In the back garden, there is quite lots of plants, because royal families can not go out easily. Chundangji, and Gwandeokjeong are part of the pack garden, and it is really beautiful when you look there. Not like yesterday, we had lots of opportunities to learn about the life that royal families had like the crown prince Sado and the lady Jang, who was the mother of king Gyeoungjong was died in the Munjeongjeon. Also, about king Jungjong, he passed away in Hwangyeongjeon, and the thing is, his doctor was Daejanggeum, a women. Plus, I learn that they are superstitious too, because they puted Jabsang, because of the thing that they believed. That was from a book, ¡®The journey to the west¡¯, and they thought that it is protecting the building from the fire. It made me surprised, because I thought that they are not believing those things. So, I think today¡¯s trip made me know about life of the people in Joseon dynasty. I am also looking forward for tomorrow, because I think that is the chance that we can know about lait josen people¡¯s life. Also, if I have a chance, I want to know about middle and low people¡¯s life too.
