I'd like to talk about Gyeongungung.

Gyeongungung's another name is Deoksugung Palace. It is very unique that it is the first palace to constrution having western-style buildings. Gyeongungung palace was the private house to older brother of King Seongjong. Who is King Seongjong? He is father of yeonsangun. I talk about him later.

Gyeongungung's main gate is Daehanmun. Originally, the main gate is Inwhamun but roads around it were narrow. So It changed it. I like that. It's easy to remember that called Daehanmun. :)

Did you ever heard about Junghwajeon? Junghwajeon was the building in the middle. It was the most important because it was the place for official events.

Inside Junghwajeon,you can see the folding screen at the back of the thorne is called Irwol-obongbyeong. It shows the king's dignity. 

I'll talk about Seokeodang. Seokeodang is the only two-storey building in the palace. It has different things, it doesn't have Dancheong(Do you remember what means it? I said that Changgyeonggung essay). After finished the ÀÓÁø¿Ö¶õ, we don't have money and resources so King Gwanghaegun ordered to make it by a less rescources. So Seokeodang is very simple place.

How beautiful place! It's jeonggwangheon.  It was the place of relaxation for King Gojong.

In here, King Gojong likes to drink coffee. It has Korean and Western architectural designs. It looks like a cozy cafe. However I guess he worried about disappeared country in here.

After to visit Gyeongungung, I think Gyeongungung has very important place.

It has sad history like Changgyeonggung palace. The last empire...

Why we have many palace that having sad and beautiful?  I'm wondering...
