Today, we visited the National Museum of Korea. We didn't see all of our entire history, but we saw the history of Paleolithic age to the Unified Silla. There was the Paleolithic age, Neolithic age, Bronze age, the three kingdoms, unified Silla. There was also Gaya and Balhae.

We all took turns explaining about Paleolithic, Neolithic and Bronze age. In the Paleolithic age, people did not use fire or neither they farmed for food. They wore animal skin for clothes. They usually hunted for their food. The people used tools called hand axes. They lived in caves too. I think it must have been hard living in the Paleolithic age.

And in the Neolithic age, people finally started agriculture. They also made lots of potterys and they wore woven clothes too. And in the Bronze age, people made rules that they would all follow. There were leaders so there were things such as the tomb, dolmens too. The bronze sword shows that they had wars too. And there was a little kind of religeon called Shamanism. The priest had on bronze bells and mirrors too.

And in the bronze age there was the very first korean nation, Gojoseon. We again heard about it's founding myth. It was fun to imagine how our ancestors had thought up stories like these. But after Gojoseon was gone, there appeared new countries.

The new countries were Goguryeo, Bakje, Silla and Gaya. Let's start with Goguryeo. It was the very first country to be established. King Jumong was the first of Goguryeo. They were very courageous. They won a lot of wars, and I really admire their bravery. They had enormous territories. They usually won wars with the China dynasty. But later on they were defeated by Sila.

Next, Bakje was a country full of beautiful culture. Their ornaments were very delicated and well made. The country was quite friendly with Japan. The gilt bronze incense burner is one of Bakje famous works. It is known for it's elegant beautys.

Silla is also a very splendid country. They liked to make sparkly acsessories. They believed in buddhism very faithfully too. I think my favorite country is Silla because they had a very clever and brave queen too.

Gaya was the kingdom of iron. They were divided into six small nations. I think that was one of the reasons they couldn't grow into a bigger country. If they used the iron they got from their land instead of selling it, they could hae been a stronger country.

And at last Silla unified the three countries with help from the Dang dynasty. When Dang wanted the land too, Silla had a lot of wars but they won. Still they lost some territories. But in that territory, a country called Balhae rised up. They were desecendants of Goguryreo people. Their history is not known wide. The first king was Daejoyoung.

Even though we didn't see all of our history, there was so much to learn from our ancestors. Our korean history held so much information for me to know, so it was a bit confusing too. But there were probably lots of knowledges we left our too. This was a very fun trip to the history museum of korea.
