The museum we went to today held items that were from the time that humans existed in Korea. From the Paleolithic Era to Joseon, the last dynasty. They had all sorts of weapons, pottery and decorative ornaments.

The Paleolithic Era was when the humans used stones to hunt. Their  main weapon was the stone hand-axe. In the Neolithic Era, humans began building pit houses and living together. They lived near water and started agriculture. Pottery was made in the Neolithic Era to store food. During the Bronze Age, humans used bronze for weapons, such as daggers. Korea's first kingdom, Gojoseon, was established by Dangun, the son of Hwanung. Hwanung was the son of heaven, so it seems fit that his son established the first kingdom. Goguryeo was established by Jumong in 37 B.C. Jumong was very good at archery, and his name literally meant 'good at archery'. In the fifth century, King Gwanggaeto had made Goguryeo into the most powerful kingdom in Asia. Baekje was established by Onjo in 18 B.C. Baekje is known for their delicate craftsmanship.  Silla was established by Parkhyeokgeose in 57 B.C. They were famous for their skills with gold. Gaya, which only existed for about 500 years, was good at making things with iron. Other than that, not many things are known about Gaya. Later in the history of Korea, Silla joined forces with Dang to defeat Baekje and Goguryeo to get their land. When Dang tried to get it for their own, Silla defeated Dang and made Unified Silla. Unified Silla was when the cultural peak of Buddhism happened. There were many Buddhist temples and towers made. Balhae was the last kingdom in Korea.

This museum contained a lot of information, in fact I had a hard time taking in all of the new info. However, I liked the things that I saw, and I thought the ornaments particularly very beautiful. I would go there again when I had enough brain storage to remember everything.
