Hello? My name is Yeriel and today we went to National Museum of Korea. Today we learned about the Ice Age and Neolithic Period. Bronze Age and, the three kingdoms which is Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla and Gaya. I will start from the very begging. The Ice age is the period which human started to walk upright. This period is almost before 3milion years ago. At that time as the name is ice age the sea level was very low. So Japan and Korea was a one land. The first tool that these peoples used is the Hand axe. The reason that archeologist knew that the hand axe was not a common rock is because the rock was very sharp. And also it was founded all over the world. The next period is the Neolithic period. At this period the sea level got higher. They started farming and hunting and fishing. So they made their house which is called Pit-house. Do you know how these peoples started farming? I will tell you the story. One day there was a seed on a floor. One person did a poo there. But after some days the sprout became growing. And it grows again and again. So they started farming. The house was near the river. Do you know the reason why? It is because when they did farming, they needed water. And to fish, living near the river is good. The tool they used is comb-pattern pottery. There are lots of reasons that there is a pattern on a pottery. The main reason is because when they put the pottery in the fire the pottery can break easily. And they also did this of the beauty. The bottom of this pottery is sharp and pointy. The reason is because they lived near the river so they could put the end of pottery in the ground. But why would they have these potteries? I think it is because they have enough food so they need a dish to store the food. Next is Bronze Age. As the name is, they used Bronze and made things such as daggers and knifes. The China also made the Mandolin shaped sword such as Korea. There were dolmens in Bronze Age. Dolmen is same as now tomb. It was for the leader. D you know how to make that big tomb? I will tell you how to do it. First, you have to make pillar each side. Then you have to put the sand and make it like a small mountain. Then put the big rock on the 2pillar. Then when you put out the sand then that¡¯s done. The size of the rock means the power of that person. For the last I will tell you the founding Myth of Korea. There was Hwanung who wanted to come to earth from the heaven. There were tiger and bear living on an earth. The two animals wanted to be a human. So they meat Hwanung and said how can they be a human. Hwanung said only eat mugwort and garlic for 100 days inside the cave. Tiger didn¡¯t wait for 100days but the bear waited patiently so the bear became women. Hwanung and ungnyeo married and got a baby named Dangun. He made the Gojoseon. That was the first kingdom of Korea. It was fun, and I can now that the Ice age peoples were smart too!
