Today we have visited Sungkyunkwan. I was very nervous becaues it was my first class. But the class is fun so I got relaxed. Sungkyunkwan was a best university at that times (So,it was very hard to pass the entrance test.) and the place of shrines(Munmyo). Actually, Sungkyunkwan's name is 'Munmyo shrine and Sunkyunkwan'. So, Sunkyunkwan is divided into 2. The shrine area, and the school aera. I'll explan shrine area first. Shrine area is called Munmyo. In Munmyo, there were Daeseongjeon that the main hall of Munmyo. In Daeseongjeon, there were spirit tablet of Confucius and other scholars(because Joseon is established on confucianism.). There was a place which was memorial service was held.(That memorial service is MunmyoJerye) The memorial service was held in twice a year(spring and autumm/Because it was the time was Confucius was born, and died). It was very important rites becaues king and prince themselves came. So, they need a lot of perparing. Jegigo, Jeonsacheong and Daeseongjeon were institutions to prepard merorial service. Jegigo was the place where plates and equipment were stored, Jeonsacheong was a kitchen which make food for memorial service. And side of Daeseongjeon, there were Dongmu and seamu.Infront of Daeseongjeon, there were Sinsammmun and 2 trees. one tree has 5 branches, and the other has 3 branches. It means Confucius's lesson. Sinsammmun is the main gate of munmyo. It usuly close becaus it was for the gost. But only the center of the door is for gost, each side is for person. School aera, There was a Myeongryundang, which was main hall of school area. Myeongryundang is student's study room. Each side of Myeongryundang, there was µ¿Àç and ¼Àç. It was a dormitory of Sungkyunkwan. They shared one room to 3~10 people. When I saw that room, I thought it was for one person. Dormitory got drum. It was used like moning call. And they woke up at 6 am!! (Can you belive it? living in minimum size room, wake up at 6 am and study hard!? In this part, I know what is trying hard.)They eat meal at Jhinsa-sikdang. And in front of Myeongryundang, there were 2 ginko trees. The ginko tree means Goon-Ja. And the back of Myeongryundang, there was a Jongyeonggak, the librery. There were a lot of confucianism books is in there. Because the students had to memorize all of the confucianism books. The side of Jongyeonggak, there is a Bicheondang. When king came for memorial service, they did a spacal test which name of test is Ȳ°¨Á¦. It was the test that give a student a °¨±Ö, and right about it.I'm really surprise at this part. In Joseon, the °¨±Ö is rare. So I can't eat my lovely fruit......so sad. It was a hard day but also reward day too. |
