Today, with mariestory, we visited Gyeongungung palace, or else called Deoksugung palace. Here I learned various informations, some very important, cause the information is going to be in our future culture explainer tests. This palace is especially famous for it's western-styled buildings. I would mainly like to talk about Jeonggwanheon. Jeonggwanheon is the place where emperor Gojong used to drink coffee. I was first surprised by the fact that emeperor Gojong liked to drink coffee. And so there is a story related to emperor Gojong and coffee. A translator had put poison in king Gojong and crown prince Sunjong's coffee! Luckily, king Gojong realized it right away, because the taste was different. Crown prince Sunjong was not lucky, however, being passed out at the taste. But luckily survived. I really don't know what happend to the person who put the poison, but if I was the emperor, I would have searched him and punished him. Anyway, the day was hot, so it was a little hard to concentrate, but everything was good, especially the stew we ate today. Thank you, mariestory! |
