Hello? My name is James. I went to Gyeongungung Palace. Actually, it's name is Deoksugung for now. Today's weather was hot, but I stilled liked the class, because it was fun. Now, I'll tell you the story of Deoksugung.

    Gyeongungung was a private house of prince Walsan, who was olther brother of king Sungjong. After the Japanese Invasion of 1592, it became into the main palace. The reason why it was a main palace was that the other palaces of that time were burn down by Japanese, so while they were rebuilding, king Gwanghaegun used it as a main palace, and that was also the time when Changgyeonggung Palace where I was Yesterday, was rebuilding. After Gojong built Daehan Empire, he moved back to this palace, and a lot of things happens with him in the palace. Gojong drank a coffee with a poison in it, and spitted it out, but his son, Sunjong drank it so he fainted for a while. Also the thing happened here was king Gojong's death. There are still a lot rumors about how he was dead, and I really want to know the true story.

    Today was a greatest day during the whole Damduk classes, and I am also exited for tommorrow for National Museum of Korea a lot too. If I still have some small questions about today's lessons, I'll say about the palces that looks like it was used for nothing, so I hope I can call to the past, and connect to a person from Deoksugung.
