Today we went to Gyeongungung. Gyeongungung or also knew as Deoksugung was originally a private house of Seongjong¡¯s brother. The main gate was not always Daehanmun. The main gate before it was Inhwamun. However, Daehanmun was more comfortable to use so it became the main gate. I saw the strong power of the king here beause he just changed things how he liked. The folding screen named Irwolobongbyeong is placed in the main hall, Junghwajeon. In the drawing there were asun representing the king, a moon representing the queen, and 5 mountains that reprecent the main mountains in Korea. I thought the drawing would be bigger, but still it was beautiful. There was a water clock named Jagyeongru that was made by Jang Yeongsil. It is not the original one but it is still very cool.
