Today I went to Gyeongbok palace. It was cold but I was ecxited because the last time I have visited Gyeongbok palace was very fun. As I thought, this visit was good too. I saw and learned about many gates and buildings, but I found Hyangwonjeong the most interesting. So, I will tell you about Hyangwonjeong. This pavillionwas a reating place for the royal family. It is a very private place compared to Gyeonghoeru. Hyangwonjung is a small island. There is a pond surrounding it and a bridge called Hyangwongyo, that connects Hyangwonjeong and gyeonghoeru. However, Hyangwongyo was burnt by Japanese people. It was rebiult. The pond is a square and the island is a circle shaped. The square symbolizes the Earth and the circle symbolizes heaven. I think Hyangwojoeng is the best place to rest after work. I hope it lasts forever in the same place. |
