Unhyeong Palace was the personal house of the Heungseon Daewongun, the father of King Gojong.

King Gojong lived in this house until he becomes king. He was 12 years old at that time.  

I'd like to talking to you  Unhyeong Palace which have Noan dang, Norakdang and Irodang.

Noan dang was Sarangchae of Unhyeong Palace. Noan dang's gate is very lofty why it is to show dignity politics and they need to passed by one's gate with riding horse. Noan means "live comfortably in old age." This building have many calligraphies. Kim jeonghee wrote this calligraphy.He is very famous calligrpheter. Heungseon Daewongun disscused about politics issuses and he met guests in there.

There is Norakdang where women's living area Anchae. It is the largest building in Unhyeong Palace. Queen Min received lessons here to becomes queen. King Gojong and Queen Min wedding ceremony was held in here. Some important party and event held, too.      

Irodang is the other Anchae. Why Unhyeong Palace have two Anchaes? After King Gojong and Queen Min marriage, Heungseon Daewongun's family couldn't use Norakdang. So they built another Anchae Irodang.

Unhyeong Palace is normal palace compare to other one. It doesn't have dancheon. But this palace was center of power Joseon Dynasty last period. Thank you for reading.
