Namsangol Hanok Village
Today we went to Namsangol Hanok Village, where we can learn a lot about the Korean traditional houses. I wondered about the way of life in Joseon Dynasty all the time so i'm happy to visit here.
There are 5 houses here in Namsangol Hanok Village, but I personally liked the house of Empire Sunjeo's father-in-law, Yoontaekyong because there was a shrine and it seemed holy. The shrine was built first in the best location. It is because serving parents were the most important thing in that period. In the shrine, there was 4 tables to serve the ancestors of four generations. I could see the love of their parents in Joseon Dynasty. Do you know what was the shape of the house? It was a chinese character meaning 'the best'. This shows their dignaity.
In Namsangol Hanok Village, I heard an interesting and shocking story. That was about noblemen's dignity. Noblemen didn't like to bend over because they thought Only a low class person bend at the waist. So, they hang a short rope and when they take off their shoes, they used this and didn't bend over. It is too ridiculous. I think they are too overacting.
Traditional houses had many things to learn about. I was little sad that there was no thatched roof. But it was still great to me and It was an honor to visit Namsangol Hanok Village. |
