Today I went to Namsan Hanok Village. There are 5 houses there. All of them were very beutiful and unique, but I want to introduce you to the house of Min Yoenghwi. If you want to learn about Min Yeonghwi's house, you need to know who is Min Yeonghwi. Min Yeonghwi is Empire Myeongseong's distant relative's nephew. So he was very rich. He is also the founder of CheonIl bank. His house is very big. In Anchae there is a large kitchen with beautiful Brassware. In Sarangchae there is a bamboo pillow called Jook Booin . Men used to hug thiswhile sleeping. There is also a rope on the cieling. Do you know what this was for? The people in high classes didn't want to bend down when they were putting off their shoes. So, they held on to this rope whie doing it. Isn't this crazy?! There were also Haenglangchae for the servants, and BeolDangchae for women. In Beoldangchae, women who were going to get married took lessons how to be a good wife. Min Yeonghwi's house was very large and beautiful and he did a lot of good things too, but I don't like him because he was one of the people who sold our country to Japanese. Anyways I like the Korean tradithional house 'Hanok' very much! Thank you |
