Today i went to Seoul Museum of Korea. King Taejo Lee Sunggae was the founder of Joseon dyansty. Since a new dynasty was established, they needed to move the capital to another place.People at that time believed in Feng Shui and Confucianism. Hanyang was surrounded with mountains. Buk-ak mounatin is located in the north of Hanyang, Nam mountain in the south, Inwang mountain in the west and Nak mountain in the east.

 Han river was also near by Hanyang. Therefore the soil was fertile and the scenery was very beautiful. So Hanyang was the best place to be the capital according to Feng Shui and confucianism.
In order to enter the city, people needed to show their Hopae which is an identification card to the gatekeeper. Name, class and birth date is written on the front and issue date is at the back of Hopae. Hopae is made of a wooden stick . Taejo Lee Sunggae is the one who enforce Hopae. He is the man worthy of one's respect.

 However, a sad thing is that there also are sexual discrimination. Because  Only men had a Hopae and women didn't had it. I really wonder how the women passed the gate that time.
 Anyway I had a great experience today. Someday I want to visit here again and want to look around exhibitions that i didn't see today.
