Hello my name is Liam and today i went to Deoksugung palace (Gyeongungung palace) with Mariestory teachers and group members.Originally, the name of this palace was called 'Gyeongungung palace' the reason why it's called the Deoksugung palace is because the Japanese ruled korea seens 1910 to 1945,so Japanese changed Gyeongungung to Deoksugung.

I think the Japanese was so rude and mean because they changed the name of the national treasure of korea!In the 19th centry i think the Japanese king really disrespeated South Korea.I think Japan was surpirzed that our country has devolped more then any other countries for the last 50years. I felt a shame for Japan because our country has a better technolgy.

Originally,Gyeongungung palace was private house of the older brother (Walsandaegun) of king Seongjong who completed the law of Joseon (gunggookdaejeon).Two kings have been living in Gyeongungung. The first king who was living in is palace was King Gwanghaegun. He was living in Gyeongungung palace for 11years.The second king is emperor Gojong and he was living in Gyeongungung palace for 12years and died here. Gojong death made me feel sad, he loved sikhae so the Janpanese gave  emperor Gojong sikhae which has poison in it. The service woman drank the sikhae first and then emperor Gojong drank the sikhae but the service woman and that was the first death of the Korean emperor Gojong.

I feel so sorry for emperor Gojong because Japanese killed Gojong's wife in 1895 and bured the body of Gojong's wife. Gojong did not wanted to be killed like his wife so he moved to Gyeongungung palace but he was killed by some Japanese spies.

Daehanmun was the main gate of Gyeongungung.Before 1902 Inwhamun was the main gate but Japanese burned it down.I thought Daehanmun was amazing because the gate for the king was so massive and had some beautiful design.Daehanmun made me fell like a massive giant going threw a big kings gate!

Junghwajeon is the main throne hall of Gyeongungung palace.Junghwajeon is the most important building because it was the place for offical events. As i was looking inside of Junghwajeon i felt like a king because the dragon on the stairs,middleroad and the 5 golden dragons made me felt like a king of Joseon Dynasty.

Hamnyeongjeon was used as a kings sleeping place. King Gojong died here because the Japanese gave Gojong a posion sikhae.

Hamnyeongjeon was the biggest sleeping i ever seen and feel so sorry for Gojong becuae his wish was not to be killed from some Japanese spies but he drink the poison sikhae and died.

Jeonggwangheon was a place of realtion for King Gojong.Jeonggwangheon has some western style because Russian guy made Jeonggwangheon and they hade a cup of coffee.So Gojong thought coffee is like a alchoal so he drank the in one shot! I think if i was a Russian dude i will feel very surprized! I will freak out why did he drank coffee in one shot! Is Gojong crazy?and so on.

I was happy to go to this big palace Gyeongungung and i felt The Seokjojeon is a white house because it just looks like a white house and this palace was so big that i felt like young Gojong
