Hi~ My name is Jiwon Han.
Today I went to National Folk Museum of Korea.
It's located in Gyeongbokgung Palace.
I would like to talk about Jangdok and Ceremonies of Korea.
Jankdok has a good ventilation. So it was used for storing fermented food. Jangdok is made of a special type of clay which contains tiny holes. Water and dirt can't get through these holes while fresh air can which helps with fermentation.
There are many ceremonies in Korea.
The first one is 100th day celebration(¹éÀÏ) and first birthday(ùµ¹). In the past, many babies died at an early age. When the child grew up and become age of 15~20, Coming of Age(¼ºÀνÄ) and marriage(È¥·Ê) were held. Then there was sixty-first birthday(ȯ°©). It was held to celebrate long life. Lastly when a person die there was funeral(Àå·Ê) and memorial service(Á¦»ç).
Today I can feel that in the past people thought long life is the best blessing. Today was an interesting class.
Hope you enjoyed my essay.
Thank you for reading it ^~^
