Hello, my name is Sunny.
Today I visited
Seoul Museum of History. Do you think there were identification card and emergency
alert in Joeson Dynasty? Well the answer is yes. Instead of identification card
there was Hopae, and instead of emergency alert there was Smoke Signal Station.
I was able to see these today at the museum.
First, I¡¯ll tell you about Hopae. Hopae is
identification card at Joseon Dynasty. People showed it to the guards to enter
the gate. The front has the owner¡¯s name, date of birth, and the class. The back
has the date of issue. Nowadays, we identify ourselves with driver¡¯s license,
ID card, and passport. I wish Damduk story can issue Hopae to students instead
of nametag so we can feel like being in Joseon.
Next, I¡¯ll tell you
about Smoke Signal Stations. There were put to alert the king when it¡¯s
emergency. Th¡©¡©¡©ey use smoke at daytime and fire at night. There weren¡¯t
any high buildings in Joseon, so the people were able to see it. One signal is on every day. Two is when the enemies appeared. Three is when the enemies came closer
to the border. Four is when the
enemies crossed the border. Five is
when the war broke out. I think they were very wise to think about Smoke Signal Station for emergency alerts. I wonder how tall and big it is compared to my
height.
In conclusion, I
was happy to know more about our history. When I come next time, I want to
learn and see more other than Joseon Dynasty. I recommend you to come to the
Seoul Museum of History and get new experiences.
