Do you know all of Korean history? If you don't know, the perfect place to go is National Folk Museum. The National Folk Museum tells about Korean traditions and sophiscated artifacts. I saw Tripitaka Koreana. It is made of 80,000 wood blocks. I think this is very interesting because there in no errors or cracks. It is because the wood ws in special process to prevent cracks. The wood blocks consist of many learnings of Budda. Next, I saw Inlaid Celadon. The first Celedon was from China but Goryeo fixed to be in different style. It is known for its beautiful color. Third, I learned about Hunminjeongeum. It is a Korean Alphabet. It was made by King Seojong, who was concerned about normal people of Joseon that could now write Chinese letter. Therefore, he made this alphabet. Fourth, I will tell you about what Joseon People did in each season. In Spring, farmers prepare for farming such as making soil smooth and plenting seeds. In summer, rice plants grow so farmers have to take care of the farm. In fall, farmers harvest and have memorial services. In winter, woeman do Kimjang and prepare clothes. When a baby is born, people put straw rope on the gate. If it is a boy, the put coal and red pepper. If it is a girl, the put coal and pine. Baekil was the celebrate the 100st day of the baby and Dol was their first birthday. Success is man passed the exam to be government official. Hwangap is when it is 61st birthday, it is because people did not live a long life in Joseon. Gwanrae is when a boy bacomes an adult. He has topknot hair. Gyere is when a girl becomes an adult and she has roll hair with hairpin. I felt that Chosen was a great country with many fancy celebrations and lots of beauticul traditions. I recommed this place to foreigners because it tells many of our history. Thank you. |
