Do you know about the National Folk Museum?Today I visited there and it was so fun, so I will explain few things. The National Folk Museum is located inside the Gyeongbokgung palace. The museum illustrates history from prehistoric times to the end of the Joseon Dynasty. The thing I'm going to explain is the lifestyle of the Joseon farmers and also about some traditions too. There is four seasons spring, summer, fall, and winter. At spring farmers got ready for farming. They made the ground smooth for farming, because the ground is frozen by the winter. During the summer the rice plants grow. Farmers take breaks because the weather was very hot. Instead of farming they made summer clothings. Fall is the harvest time. Farmers harvest crops. They hold a memorial service for their ancestors with their crops, and prerare for winter. During the winter it is hard to find vegetables so women prepare Kimchi for the whole winter.(Kimchi is traditonal food in Korea) This was Joseon's farmer's 1 year. Going on there are 2 Joseon's tradition andit is related to the babies. First, Baekil is for babies lived 100 days, because lost of babies were died young. Second, is Dol and it is the first birth day. The thing I'm interested in Dol is Doljabe. Each things at the table has other meanings and the thing which the baby picks is thier future kind of thing. The thing I felt today was that I want to go to the past and try all the things that I saw today at the National Folk Museum of Korea. If you are interested in history, I think it will be a great idea to visit here too!!Thank you for reading my essay!! |
