Do you know about Hanok's function? It is hard to remember. Then visit Namsan Hanok Village. There, you can learn about people's living style. I sa many kinds of Hanok, byt I think that Yun Taekyeong's hanok. Yun Taekyeong's house had tiled roof and has a shrine. This is very interesting because in a shine, there could be only for ancetors, so if another man died, the oldest man had to go to another special place as a spirit tablet near the graveyard. And also it is very unique because it is shaped like the Chinese charactoer êª, "The besst." A normal Hanok has three different parts -Sarangche, Anche, and Hangrangche. In Sarnachae, men lived here and it was for studying and for reading books. Anche was with the kitchen because the women cooked, too. Women's job was taking care of children and cooking. Hangrangche wa whre the servants lived. Also, man and woman lived in different places according to Confucianism. Lastly, I will tell you about Ondol. Ondol is a Korean traditional heating system. When you cook, the air goes through under the flower, so the floor was very warm in winter. Because of the system, they could live in winter comfortably. I felt that our ancetors were very wise to use many kinds of nature to make Hanok. However, I think it would have been difficult to go to the far bathroom, so I don't want to live in this house. Still, in Namsan, I could feel that Hanok was a great house developing nature into science. Thank you. |
