Today I visited the duksugung and I would like to talk about the coffee of king gojong and the incident that nearly drove himand seongjong to death. Many people did not know how to drink coffee when it was first imported from the western civilization. But sitill king gojong really liked drinking coffee and ofcourse, someone in japan tried to poison king gojong with the coffee. King gojong had a sensitive taste and spat out the coffee that he wanted to eat immeadtly but songjong did not have sensitive taste and did not spit it out so he drank a amount of the coffee which did not kill him but he was sick for days afterward. I think the coffee was important in history and I was so happy that king gojong had a sesitive taste.Thank you for reading my speech. |
