MonChonToSung
Today I went to the MonChonToSung and learned about Baekje. Baekje was founded by Onjo. Onjo is the son of King Ju Mong. Onjo made its kingdom in the Han River area. It became the most powerful kingdom out of the three in the 4th century. Baekje accepted Chinese culture such as art, Buddhism, and Chinese characters. If Goguryeo’s culture is all about bravery, Baekje’s culture is graceful and delicate. King Go-I decided to make a law to make the king’s power stronger. After Go-I’s death, King Guen- Cho- Go’s reign, he led the golden age of Baekje. He attacked Goguryeo with 30,000 soldiers. Bitterly, in this war, king Go-Gook-Won died.
Baekje sent people like Wang-In, A-Jik-Gi, and Wang-Yu-Gi to Japan to deliver their culture like art, medicine, music. One of the most famous things that are delivered is the seven-branched-sword. This tells that the relationship between Baekje and Japan was good. The Bronze incensed Burner is the masterpiece of fine arts of Baekje. This is divided into four parts. The body, the lid, the phoenix shaped knob, and the support plate. This is why the Bronze Incensed Burner is called the symbol of Baekje’s culture. |
