Today, I went to UNHYUN palace. Unhyun palace was the personal house of 흥선대원군, the father of 고종. King 고종 became a king when he was 12 years old. People began to call the palace Unhyun palace from when 고종 became a king.
Next, I learned about Queen Min. She was the wife of king 고종. 흥선대원군 was her father in law. He didn't want to open our country to others, but his daughter in law queen Min wanted to accept other culture. I think the queen Min was right. Because when we open our countryto others, we can develope. She tried to have a close relationship with Russia. However, Japanese did not like that idea. Eventually they murdered Queen Min and burned her body. I think it was really bad to kill our queen. So, we can't forgive Japan.
Lastly, I visited 노안당. 노안당 is the 사랑채 of Unhyun palace. 노안 means "living comfortably in old age". 김정희 wrote the hanging board of the 노안당. 흥선대원군 stayed here and met guests. He also discussed political issues. I wanted to get into 노안당, but I wasn't allowed.
I think I want to go to Unhyun palace again.  |
