Today I went to Gyeong Bok Palace. Do you know Gyeong Bok Palace? Of course you'll know. I'm going to tell you about Gyeong Bok Palace.
Gyeong Bok Palace is main palace and the largest among all five. Gyeong Bok means 'great fortunes'. Gwanghwamun is main gate of the Palace. It destroyed 3 times. First, Imjin war, second Korean war and Third it rebuilt by President Park. Geunjeong jeon is the main building of the palace. They did some coronations, royal weddings, and Chinese envoy receptions. At behind Geunjeong jeon there are Sajeong jeon. Sa jeong jeon is the private office of the King. King and officers work together at here. At behind Sa jeong jeon there are Gang neong jeon. Gang neong jeon, where the King stayed. There are no dragon ridges on the roof. Dragon ridges were a symbol of the King. Again behind Gang neong jeon there are Gyo tae jeon. Gyo tae jeon, is where queen lived. Behind this building, there sis Ahmisan that is a beautiful little garden. Queen can't go out palace easly, so King made the beautiful garden for Queen. At right of Gyo tae jeon there are Ja geong jeon. Ja geong jeon is where King's mother lives. Heung seon dae won gun built it. The hall is famous by beautiful chimneys and flower wall. There are ten symbols on chimney. A turtle, crane, sun, and rock it meant to represent everlasting life. At left of Gyo tae jeon there are Gyeong hoe ru. Gyeong hoe ru is a large pavilion for resting and hosting parties. It's National Treasures. It is supported by 48 stone pillars. The outer pillars are squared and the inner pillars are rounded. It said "It come from the Yin and Yang theory." This pavilion was a resting place for the roual family.
I felt it is fun to see King's main palace. But, I was sad when I heard Queen Min killed by the Japanese at Gyeong Bok Palace, at 1895. Gyeong Bok Palace was built in 1395 and I can see it. I can't believe it but, we rebuilt three time. My memorible thing was to go to beautiful little garden, Ahmisan. It had good time and fun time at Gyeong Bok Palace!~ |
