Hello, everyone? My Korean name is Ah Yeon and my English name is Sally. On Saturday, I went to Changgyeong palace. Changgyeong palace has many sad and tradegy stories. But today, I will tell you about Honghawmun, Okcheongyo, Dancheong, and lastly about Janpsang.

First, I will tell you about Honghawmun. Honghawmun is the main gate of Changgyeong palace. It is the most splendid gate among the five palaces.

Second, I will tell you about Okcheongyo. Every palace has stone bridges between the main gate and main palaces. Changgyeong palace has the bridge, too. Okcheongyo is the stone bridge of Changgyeong palace. This bridge seperates the holy land of king from normal land. Also, officers clear their mind before going to the bridge. There are some monster carvings between the arches. That monster carvings protect the palace from evil spirits.

Third, I will tell you about Dancheong. Dancheong is Korean-styled and colorful decorations used on buildings. It represents the dignity and power of the king. There are five colors in Dancheong. Red means fire, black means water, green means tree or wood, white means metal, and lastly yellow means earth. These colors are the five elements of universe.

Lastly, I will tell you about Janpsang. Janpsang is the small figures on the roof. These figures protected the palace from evil spirits. Also, Janpsang comes from the novel "Journey to the West".

In conclusion, Cheonggyeong palace has many sad stories, but also beautiful and has many meanings.
