Today I went to Gyeongbok Palace. Gyeongbok palace is the biggest place in Joseon history. Gyeongbok means Great fortune. Now I will layout my explanation
First of all, I will talk about GWanghwamun. It is the main gate. IT was rebilt because it had been rebuilt artificially using present day things so the government decided to build it using environmental friendly things.
Next, ther eare ineer palace and outer palace. The outer palace is geonjungjeon, where they have important ceremonies such as marriage, invite chinese envoys. In the ineer palace, they work officially only king and Queen. ALso, they have their daily life.
Now, I will tell you the names of some parts of Geongbok palace. 교태전 is the living quaters of the quuen, 자경전is buily for the king's mother 경회루 is where they have parties or where they rest. 근정전 is the main building of the palace. 사정전 is a private office ofr the king. 강녕전 is a place where he stay, means living quaters.
Lastly, I'll tell you about the history of 경복궁. It was first built in 1395 by Taejo, but it burned down during the Imjin War in 1592so at that time, chandeok palace was used as the main palace. So, heungseong Daewongun rebuilt the gyeongbok palace in 1868
