When I passed the Hougwha Gate, I saw the Japsangs and Dangungs. Let me explain about Jabsang and Danchung.
Jabsang is a small figure on the gate. People believe that the Jabsang protect the palace from the evil of fire.
Danchung is a splendid decoration of the palace. I think the reason that the Hongwha Gate maybe the most splendid than any other gates what the Danchung have. Danchung means the 5 elements believing in 음양오론설. Red means fire. Black means water, White means metal, Green means tree(or wood), and yellow means the Earth.
And straightly, I saw the Okchun Bridge. There are monsters in the middle of the arches. The monster protect the palace from the monster of water what lives under the bridge.
Then, I saw the 명정전. 명정전's path is divided into 3, the left is for military official, the right is for civil officials and the midst is for king. It was the palace for coronation and the civil service exam.
Then, I saw the palce where the crown prince Sado died. It destroyed by Japanese but I think it would be very green forest!
And I saw the Sungmundang. It was for academic discussion. The article, 숭문당 was written by 21st Joseon king, 영조.
Then, I saw the 함인정, It is the place where the king and the 장원 student who get the best grades in the civil service exam, met and had a light alchol ceremony.
Lastly, I saw the 경천전. It was for king's mother and grandmother, also for the young, baby king.
Anyway, it was a great journey
