I went to Gyeongun Palace. I was very surprised that there weren't many buildings than I thought. My teacher said that it is because Japanese sold some of them to other people. Gyeongun Palace is unique because it has western styled buildings, unlike other palaces.

I liked the building, Jeonggwangheon. Jeonggwangheon was the relaxing place for Gojong. Also, Gojong enjoyed drinking coffee there. When coffee was imported to Korea for the fist time, people didn't know how to drink it because it was rare. So when Gojong drank coffee, the official poured the hot coffee into a small liquor glass and drank it down. I think it is a sad thing about Gojong. How could the emperor of a country could drink coffee like that? I couldn't help myself of laughing when I imagined Gojong drinking all the coffee for one time.

I was interested of the main building, Junghwajeon too. Junghwajeon was the most important building in the Gyeongun Palace. It was the building for the official events. In front of Junghwajeon, there are rank stones. And inside the Junghwajeon, there is a throne that is beautifully decorated.
