I went to Gyeongun palace i'm very interested in the folding screen and Japsang and also Danchung.The Folding screen called shadow of the king,is 일월오봉도. At 일월오봉도 sun means king moon means queen, and trees mean royalty.Five mountains means land of Korea and the water means people. Japsng are the animals on the roof, Japsang are the characters of the Seoyugi. The character's name is are Priest Samjang, Sonogong, Jeopalgye, and Saojung. Danchung are the five colors under the roof. They are red, black, green, white, yellow. The red means fire, black means water, green means forest, white means metal, yellow means earth the Danchung is only under the roof of the kings rood, but Seokeodang doesn's have Danchung because after the Iimjin war there wasn's enough money. |
