Namsan Hanok Village is located in downtown Seoul. In Namsan Hanok Village, we can see houses of different classes in Joeson Dynasty. In Joeson Dynasty, people respect the nature. So they made houses by using the nature resources. For instance, the floor, door and column were made of wood. Also the walls are made of a mixture of soil and straw. In Namsan Hanok Village, we can see Joeson people's lifestyle. There is Hanok with tile roof. Noble men (Yangban) lived in tile roof houses. It was influenced by Confucian ideas. Male and Female rooms are separated. Sarandchae is area for men and Anchae is for the women. Servants are stayed in Haengnangchae. Finally Byeolchae, behind the Anchae, was used by daughters until they got married. Also, I learn about Jangdokdae. Jandokdae is easily found at old korean house like Hanok and country side houses. Jangdok was used for storing the foods. It's better than plastic vessels because Jangdok has good ventilation. Different clays was used for make Jangdok, which allows very small sized holes in the walls. The air can go inside and outside, that helping fermentation and storage.
