Today, I learned about the Joseon Dynasty during the Korea history more detailed. At the last time of Goryeo Dynasty, there was 우왕 and he ordered general 이성계 to conquered the Manchuria. But he thought that it was impossible, so he wrote the document to appeal about why it is impossible with 4 reasons. But 우왕 tried to continue the conquest so finally, 이성계 withdrew his troops at 위화도. This is called 위화도 회군. And then , 창왕 was ascended by 이성계, but later, finally 이성계 became the king of new country what he established in 1392, the Joseon Dynasty. I think 우왕 is pitiful because he force impossible mission to millitary officials, so he became like dethroned king. But, in the other hand, 이성계 could be regarded as the bad official like traitor because he rebelled his country and 우왕.
There was lots of kings during the Korea history, but I think the most greatest king is the king 세종 during the Joseon Dynasty. During the reign of king 세종 that was the time of Joseon's renaissance because music, art and science were very developed. Like sundial, water clock which works automatically and celestial sphere. These things were made by 장영실 although he had low class I think he is the best! And also, king 세종 invented the 'Hangeul', with 집현전 scholors. I think our Korea's culture could be like this, because of king 세종. It was very excited day learning about Joseon Dynasty. |
