I went to Chang gyeong- Gung today(maybe some day). My teacher was Jee Hyae, Lee. She is a nice teacher. I saw Japsang. There was this Buddhist monk, monkey, and pigs. These are small figures on the roof. People believed that they protect the building from fire. It comes from the Chinese novel called' Journey to the West'.

 Dancheong is a beautiful Korean-styled decorations used on buildings. It symbolizes the dignity and power of the king. Dancheong consists of five colors:

 ûý Red means fire,

 â© Black means water,

 ÙÊ Green means tree or wood,

 ÐÝ White means metal,

and ÷Ï Yellow means Earth.

 Each of them has its own special meanings. These five colors are the five elements which make up the Universe.
