Today I went to the National Folkmuseum. The National Folkmuseum of Korea is located in Gyeongbok palace. We can learn about the Lifestyle of the Korean people. There is a pal-man-dae-jang-gyeong. There is a 81258 woodblocks. The amazing thing is there are no error! So, it registered on UNESCO's world cultural heritage list in December of 1995. And also there is a hoon-min-jeong-eum. Hangul is the name of Korea alphabet. It was created by King sejong, the forth ruler of the Joseon Dynasty in 1443. So, hangul was registered UNESCO's memory if the world in October 1997. And there is a Kimchi. Kimchi is made of vegetavles mixed with spicy ingredients. The most common vegetables are cabbage, radish, leeks, cucumber, sesame leaves. There is 200 different kinds of Kimchi. In the winter, Kimchi is stored in claypots. Because the claypots help ferment the Kimchi by allowing it to the breathe. Nowadays, many houses keep Kimchi in special refrigerator instead of the clay pot. I am exicted about geumjul. Today I learn many things in the folkmuseum. |
