Do you know about the Joseon Dynasty? Joseon was formed by 태조 이성계. Today I learned about the king’s clothing, Yang bans and the motifs of household appliances from the Joseon.
First, the king usually wore a 곤룡포 with an 익선관 on his head. It is called 상복. It is embroidered with red silk and dragons with 5 claws with symbols king. In official ceremonies he wore a 구장복 with a 면류관 on his head. It is called a 면복. When king met officials, he put on a 강사포 and 면류관. It is called 조복.
Second, Yang bans had to follow strict Confucian principles. The yang ban lived in a elite house which separates the men and the women’s quarters. Yang bans study and received guests. They drew the 4군자 An ovum, peony, bamboo, and apricot tree.
Third, 2 household motifs is the Harmony with Mandarin Ducks, which symbols martial love. Fertility symbols grapes, chestnuts peppers, and egg plant. It has great wishes of commoners to be wealthy.
In conclusion, Joseon has 3 most common basics of Joseon’s social studies. I want to visit the museum again. |
