Today, I went to Seodaemun Prison History Hall. There I learned about Korea's awful history with Japan. I especially liked the part where I got to learn about many patriots. The patriot I always admired for bravery was there, too. Who was it? Patriot Yu, Kwan-sun! Yu, Kwan-sun fought for independence when her school was shut down by Japanese. There are many reasons why I admire her. I will tell you just a few of them. First, she fought for independence when Japanese held guns and she only held one flag which was the Tae-guek-gi. I wish to have the bravery patriot Yu, Kwan-sun always had. Second, Yu, Kwan-sun shouted "Long live Korea!!!" even when she was imprisoned and was tortured. She wanted independence for her country until she died at the age of 18.
When I saw all the imprisoned patriots staring back at me, I felt sad about Korea's unfortunate history. Still, I felt proud of the ones who fought for our coutry's independence. I felt that the trip to Seodaemun Prison History Hall would be something I would never forget. |
