Today, I went to Seodaemun Prison History Hall with Mariestory. I could learn about how our patriots, the deadly Seodaemun Prison, and the ways they were tortured.

Seodaemun prison was built beside the Independence Gate, which was built in 1896. It was to stop the Koreans thinking about independence. So, was the gate built for the freedom of Japan? No! It was for the indepence of China before.

There were many Korean Independence movements, but one of the most famous ones was the March 1st movement. Thirty-three patriot leaders declared independence in 1919, at Pagoda Park. More than 2 million people joined this resistance demonstration.  I think these people are very brave and couragous enough to even give their lives to save their own country and other citizens. Even though Koreans were arrested and put in prison, they did not give up. Finally, thanks to the patriots' hard work and fights, out country finally found freedom in 1945.

In the Seodaemun Prison, the 'fake' prisoners had a difficult time. They wore harsh clothing, ate little food, and did hard work.

Yes, we are now free. But we should still think about our country-lovers who tried to save Korea from the Japanese. If we all forget their dreams and action, their work for such years should disappear in thin air-and of course, we don't want that.
